Welcome to the Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club Inc. Court Hire Want to hire a court for tennis (day or night) or find a professional coach. The Proshop contains the latest racquets, shoes and apparel to to keep you playing at your best. Stay fit and healthy by playing tennis and have fun at the same time. Anyone interested in playing tennis will receive a warm welcome at Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club. You don't have to be a senior or a member to hire a court. All are welcome!! 2009 Club Member of the Year Allan Jones was awarded Club Member of the Year for 2009. Allan has done a huge amount of work and donated so much to improving the Club’s facilities. He has been the driving force for much of the improved signage and the structural improvements such as painted concrete paving, up-graded BBQ facilities, shade sails, a new entrance gateway and so on. Allan is a deserving winner of the Club Member of the Year award. Congratulations Allan – your efforts are much appreciated. 2008 Club Member of the Year Roy Hamson is a quiet achiever who works away behind the scenes, yet contributes in so many ways for the betterment of the Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club. He applies his Quantity Surveyor skills in a variety of ways including planning for court extensions, court resurfacing and facility improvement. 2007 Club Member of the Year Mike Golds was awarded the 2007 Club Member of the Year in recognition of his dedication and valuable contribution over many years, particularly as manager and club coach, and for his friendly and enthusiastic club spirit. Mike is a worthy recipient of this award for promoting the interests of the club and advancing tennis generally for both juniors and seniors. Mike is popular with members and visitors alike and goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome. He is truly a great asset to the Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club. Well done Mike! New Life Member: At the Club’s Annual General Meeting in 2009, Rob Newton was awarded Life Membership of the Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club. Rob has served the Club over a number of years, most notably as President for about 5 years and Vice-President for 3 years before that. He has been the main instigator in setting the strategic direction for the Club and establishing it on a business footing to the point where the Club is in a sound financial position and has introduced a number of improvements to the tennis calendar. Moreover, Rob has worked hard in establishing a close working relationship with Councillors and key staff at the Gold Coast City Council, particularly in pressing for additional support and funding for additional courts and an unrestricted liquor licence. Rob has been extraordinarily generous in donating his time and organising improvements for the betterment of the Club. He is a worthy recipient of the Life Membership Award. Congratulations, Rob.
